Judgment on Your Report? It May Not Belong There.
Since 2018, the three major credit bureaus no longer include civil judgments on credit reports. If a judgment, or the debt behind it, is still hurting your credit, we review it and dispute what should not be there.
What Changed With Judgments
Starting in 2017, Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion adopted new public record standards, and by April 2018 they had removed civil judgments from consumer credit reports. A judgment showing on one of those reports today is a red flag worth checking.
A judgment is still a court record, though. The debt behind it can still report as a collection or charge-off, and judgments can show up on tenant screening and background reports. That is where most of the damage comes from now.
Judgment Problems We Find
Here is what we look for when a judgment is affecting your credit:
- A civil judgment still showing on a major bureau report
- The same debt reported as both a collection and a charge-off
- Balances that do not match the court record
- Paid or satisfied debts still showing a balance
- Old judgments on tenant screening reports
- Debts that are not yours

Judgment Reporting Help: Common Questions
Do judgments still show on credit reports?
The three major bureaus finished removing civil judgments from consumer credit reports in 2018. The debt behind a judgment can still report as a collection or charge-off.
Can you get a judgment vacated or dismissed?
No. We are not attorneys and do not handle court cases. We dispute how the judgment and related debts appear on your reports. For court matters, talk with a licensed attorney.
Will a judgment affect renting an apartment?
It can. Tenant screening companies often search court records. We review those reports too and dispute anything inaccurate.
How long does it take?
Each round of disputes usually takes about 30 days per bureau. Our FASTRAK program delivers results in as little as 7 to 21 days. Our Monthly Plan typically runs 3 to 9 months. Individual results vary.
What does it cost?
Our Monthly Plan is $250 to start, then $150 per month. FASTRAK is $899 one-time. We never charge per deletion.
